A. T. IRLBECK
Anselm Theodore, son of Engelbert and Frances (Schlichter) Irlbeck, was born November 9, 1909 in Templeton, Iowa. On March 4, 1935 he was united in marriage with Wilhelmina Steffes at Sacred Heart Church in Templeton. They farmed all their lives near Manning, with the exception of five years when they lived at Auburn. A.T.'s wife died on December 3, 1969. He remained at his home until August 6, 1989 when he entered Manning General Hospital where he died on Thursday, August 17, 1989 at the age of 79 years, 9 months, and 8 days.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; by four brothers, W.E. Irlbeck, Albert Irlbeck, Alphonse Irlbeck, and Felix Irlbeck; by two sisters, Frances Kemper and one in infancy; by twin grandsons; and by two granddaughters.

A.T. is survived by his children: Merlyn Irlbeck and his wife, Beverly, of Manning; Ronald Irlbeck and his wife, Catherine, of Crestview, Florida; Patricia and her husband, Kenneth Loats, of Storm Lake; Floyd Irlbeck and his wife, Carol, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Elaine and her husband, Richard Dammann, of Manning; and Joyce Nelson, of Ankeny; by 22 grandchildren; by 10 great-grandchildren; by a brother, Sylvester Irlbeck and his wife, Ardella, of Templeton; by the following in-laws: Margaret Irlbeck, of Manning; Henrietta Irlbeck, of Templeton; Lorraine Irlbeck, of Templeton; Cordella Steffes, of Carroll; Frank and Helen Kasperbauer, of Manning; Alma Fuchs, of Templeton; Herbert and Elenora Steffes, of North Platte, Nebraska; Cletus and Rita Steffes, of Des Moines; and Alvin and Hilda Steffes, of Templeton; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
