Adolph Grundmeier

Kelliher, Minnesota ----

Adolph H. Grundmeier, 82, Kelliher, Minnesota, died Saturday December 15 at the Bemidji hospital there. He was a former resident of Carroll county. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at Kelliher, with the Rev. Bruce Harshburger officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Kelliher.

Mr. Grundmeier was born in Carroll County, April 4, 1891. On February 4, 1913, he married Martha Hinze at Manning. They moved to Kelliher that year, returned to Iowa in 1914 and moved to Saum, Minnesota, in 1920, where they lived until 1951. Later the couple lived in Kelliher.

He was clerk of the Saum's School District for 25 years and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife: one son, Glen, Kelliher; 5 daughters, Mrs. Orin (Cola) Wolden, and Mrs. Fridolf (Evelyn) Eklund, Blackduck, Minnesota, Mrs. Roger (Helen) Carlson, St. Petersburg, Florida, Mrs. Michael (Vera) Johnson, Phoenix, Arizona, and Mrs. Peter (Arlene) Lempart, Saum, Minnesota; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank of Blackduck and Martin of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. James Meade, Hines, Minnesota; and Mrs. August Mergele, Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by a son, Howard.
