Agnes Mathilda, daughter of Frank Joseph and Anna Josephine (Dentlinger) Lutwitze, was born May 28, 1932, at Dedham, Iowa. She attended Templeton Elementary School and St. Angela's Academy graduating in 1949. Agnes lived on the farm with her family and later attended Business College in Sioux City.

Agnes worked at Sioux Tools for eleven years and then in the mailroom at St. Joseph Hospital/Mercy Medical Center/Internal Medicine for 32 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of Cathedral of Epiphany in Sioux City and active member of the Legion of Mary at the Cathedral. Agnes enjoyed volunteering to help elderly parishioners.

Through the years Agnes traveled to many places, including Minnesota - which was her favorite place to visit. When her health declined Agnes moved to Holy Spirit Retirement Community in Sioux City in 2006. She enjoyed daily mass and visiting with people, reading, playing bingo and participating in other activities. She died there on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the age of 84 years, 9 months, and 23 days.

She is preceded in death by her parents; infant brother Joseph; sister, Helen Neppel (Arby) and brother, LaVern Lutwitze; brother-in-law, Charles Mitchell.

Agnes is survived by her sisters Margaret Frees (John) of Manning, and Florence Mitchell of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in-law Shirley Lutwitze of Carroll; many nieces and nephews; friend Kathy Petersen (Randy) of Lawton; other relatives and friends.
