Albert, son of Mr. and Mrs. John David was born September 7, 1870, in Pomerania, Germany. When 16 years of age he came with his family to the United States, settling in Lincoln Township Audubon County, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and remained a member of Trinity congregation in Lincoln Township.

On May 12, 1898, he was united in marriage with Minna Borkowski. Five children were born to this union.

The couple farmed in Lincoln Township until they retired to Manning in 1944. Mrs. David passed away on March 15, 1959.

After living for about a year with his son Emil, Albert lived in Friendship Home at Audubon where he passed away after a short illness Saturday morning, October 31, 1964, at the age of 94 years, 1 month, and 24 days.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

He is survived by his five children Edna, Mrs. William Friedericksen, Milton-Freewater, Oregon; Alfred, Emil, and Clarence of Audubon and Hugo of St Joe, Michigan; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.


Albert David is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
