Funeral services for Albert Max Genzen were held at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. John M. Ansorge officiated at the final rites. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Struve, Julius Musfeldt, Hubert Lamp, Emil Klindt, Albert Stammer, and Otto Voege.

Mr. Genzen was born in Stralsund, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, on November 21, 1888. In 1895, he came with his family to the United States settling in Chicago, and in 1900, to Crawford County, Iowa. His mother, Dorothea Genzen, passed away in Germany and his father, Carl Genzen, in Lansing, Michigan.

In 1909, he was married to Miss Bertha Katherine Grimm at Manning.

Surviving with his wife are the following children: Lester Genzen, Manilla; Virgil Genzen, Mrs. Odessa Vinke, Ivan Genzen, LaVonne Genzen, Mrs. Lucille Pfannkuch, and Robert Genzen, all of Manning.

Two sons, Arthur and Elmer, preceded him in death.

Surviving also are a sister, Mrs. Bertha Kosrow of Chicago and a brother, Theodore Genzen, of Manning.

Mr. Genzen received his education in the Chicago schools and in the rural schools of Crawford County. For five years he operated a cream station and for the past 33 years he has been a farmer, living for 26 years on the farm he was on at the time of his death. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Mr. Genzen had been ill for the past two and a half years of an incurable paralysis of the nervous system and passed away at his home near Manning Thursday evening, December 11, 1947.

His sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Kosrow of Chicago, were present for the services.
