DAD
As I watched him laying there I knew he was in pain
He wouldn't admit it, but I knew it just the same
It meant so much to have his family near
That it didn't matter when we wiped away a tear
He asked to see his four children whom he loved so very much
Just to tell us he loved us and for one last final touch
His daughters-in-law and sons-in-law were so loved by him too
For they were there to support us and to help us get through
We were all his pride and joy, you see
He gave so much and led us to believe
He guided us in his best way
For he was the one who taught us to pray
He told me he had the most wonderful grandchildren of all
And all of them were special no matter how small
From Brad the oldest to Allie the youngest
He would love them forever, just like he told us
Last but not least I witnessed a special love
Between a man and wife who God has blessed from above
I know Mom will miss him but she didn't want to see him suffer
They talked and remembered that other times were tougher
Each time we saw him we knew it could be the last
It was hard saying good-bye but we remember our past
There's one little thing that will never be forgot
"Hell's Fire" were the words that he said quite a lot
We will all miss him, but there's one thing he left behind
Our Mother that we love, cherish and is so kind
Now we have fond memories of Dad whom we loved
For he is at peace in Heaven above

Love Linda
