Funeral services for Albert Claus Joens, 70, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, at Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor George B. Eschenbacher officiating. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.

Son of Hans and Maria (Hansen) Joens he was born January 10, 1889, in Crawford County, and died Sunday noon, at St. Anthony hospital in Carroll.

Albert was married on 18, 1912, to Lillie C. Schroeder, and the couple farmed in Carroll County until four years ago, when they moved to Manning.

Besides his wife, he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Ashley (Hilda) Smith, Akron, Colorado; Mrs. George (Linda) Denton, Lawrence, Kansas; two brothers, John Joens, Manning; and Henry Joens, Denison.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Walter.
