ALFRIEDA MARIA JAHN
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 28, 1965, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Manning, for Mrs. Alfrieda Jahn with Rev. Edward F. Heinicke, officiating. Pallbearers were Vernon Schroeder, Arlo Schroeder, Virtus Schroeder, Roy Jahn, Hugo P.G. Jahn, and Wayne Jahn. Burial was made in the Manning Cemetery. Ohde Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Alfrieda Maria Jahn was born August 23, 1886, in Hayes Township, Crawford County, Iowa, the daughter of Henry E. Schroeder and Anna Schroeder. She attended country schools in Hayes Township. She was married February 16, 1910, to Carsten Herman Jahn at Denison and they farmed in Hayes Township until moving to Manning in 1947,

She had been failing health for the past several years and was taken to Manning General Hospital November 23, 1965, where she died Friday night, December 24, 1965, at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 1 day.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister, one great grandchild.

She is survived by her husband and children, Louie P.H. Jahn, Manilla; Marie, Mrs. Carl Brus, Manning; Marena, Mrs. Clinton Rowe, Saratoga, California; and Paul C.H. Jahn, Denison; also 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Brothers, Herman Schroeder, Flandreau, South Dakota; Hannes Schroeder, Eventide, Denison; sister, Emma, Mrs. Irving Stombaugh, Eagan, South Dakota.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Manning.


Alfrieda Jahn is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
