Alice Fry obituary.
March 17, 1910 Manning Monitor

Alice M. Stribe was born in Fulton, Illinois, October 18, 1869, and died in the Jennie Edmundson Hospital, Council Bluffs, March 12, 1910, aged 40 years, 4 months and 22 days. She was married December 3, 1889 to Samuel F. Fry, who departed this life two years ago. Four children was born to them of whom the only daughter, Lillian Alice, died while very young in 1897, the three sons,

Clarence, Harold and Wesley survive the, loss of both parents. For three years after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Fry resided on a farm near Manning and then for nine years in town, then moved to Hartley, Iowa, and from there to California. In 1906 they came east to Nebraska where they lived until Mr. Fry's death when the wife and sons returned to Manning. The sickness of the departed dated back about a year and a half during which time she suffered all that mortal flesh could endure of pain and for a great part of the time could truthfully declare with the inspired writer, "I die daily." Yet through all her trials her faith never wavered and she felt submissive to the will of God. Mrs. Fry united with the Presbyterian church after moving to Manning in 1892 and continued in church fellowship in the various places where she has resided, restoring her membership to the church in Manning on her return to this place.

The funeral services were held at the home, Tuesday, March 15, at 10 a.m., consisting of singing the favorite hymns of the deceased, prayer, Bible reading, and a brief address from Romans 8:18 by the writer. The body was interred in the Manning cemetery beside the form of the deceased husband and infant daughter.
R.E. HARVEY.

For the many kindnesses shown us during the sickness and death of our beloved mother we are indeed grateful. No one knows the loss of a mother until she sleeps a last sleep. Your words, deeds and flowers were indeed comforting.
