ALMA ETHEL JAHN
Alma Ethel Jahn was born August 12, 1910, in Flandreau, South Dakota. Her father was John Wilhelm and her mother was Antonia Kuhl. They moved to Manning in 1917 and Alma attended the Manning Schools. She was united in marriage to Louie P.H. Jahn on September 25, 1930. They farmed northwest of Manning.

Alma died suddenly at her home on Tuesday noon, December 9. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. She was preceded in death by one son, Larry on October 17, 1975, by her parents and one grandson.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter Jeanette (Mrs. John Kilgore of Littleton, Colorado), one son, Lowell of Manning, 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one brother, Hugo Wilhelm of Manning, two sisters, Mrs. Alice Kuhl of Irwin, Mrs. Selma (Kenneth) Olson of Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Services were Friday, December 12, 11:00 a.m., at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. Pastor Edward F. Heinicke was in charge; organist Dorothy Kusel. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gene Kuhl, Wayne Jahn, Claus Nielsen, Henry Schroeder, Norman Ehlers, and Clifford Joens. Ohde Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Jahn will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor Edward Heinicke officiating.

Mrs. Jahn died suddenly Tuesday noon at her home northwest of Manning.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday at Ohde Funeral Home. Burial will be in Manning Cemetery.

Mrs. Jahn was born August 12, 1910, in Flandreau, South Dakota, to John and Antonia Kuhl Wilhelm. She moved to Manning in 1917 with her family and attended the local schools. She was married to Louie P.H. Jahn September 25, 1930, and they have farmed northwest of Manning since then.

Survivors include her husband, Louie P.H. Jahn, one daughter, Mrs. John (Jeanette) Kilgore, Littleton, Colorado, one son Lowell, Manning, 14 grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. Also surviving are one brother, Hugo Wilhelm, Manning, and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Kuhl, Irwin, and Mrs. Kenneth (Selma) Olsen, Stillwater, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by a son Larry in October, her parents, and one grandson.


Alma Jahn is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
