ALMA JONES
Alma, daughter of Gustav and Elizabeth Bladt Sindt, was born March 31, 1913, in Pottawattamie County, Iowa. Alma attended school in Tennant. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
On August 23, 1932, Alma was united in marriage with Conrad Jones. Five children were born to this union: Conrad Jr., Clarice, Bernard, LeRoy, and Gary.

Alma and her husband farmed in the Manning area until retiring in 1972. Alma was a homemaker. She enjoyed doing handiwork, sewing, crocheting, baking, flower gardening, and listening to country music on TV.

Alma died on Saturday, October 15, 1994, at the Manning General Hospital, Manning, Iowa at the age of 81 years, 6 months, and 14 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990; her parents; two sisters, Ella Berg and Edna Nielsen; and a brother, George Sindt.

Survivors include her children: Conrad Jones, Jr. of Hamlin; Clarice and her husband, Alfred Weinbrandt, of Omaha, Nebraska; Bernard Jones and his wife, Kathy, of Manning; LeRoy Jones and his wife, Sharon, of Omaha, Nebraska; and Gary Jones and his wife, Raejean, of Ankeny; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters: Emma Plagman, of Elk Horn; Mabel Stuhr, of Council Bluffs; and Hilda Christensen, of Harlan; a brother, Gustav Sindt, Jr. and his wife, Melba, of Council Bluffs; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Alma Jones is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
