MANNING - Alphonse Bernard Irlbeck, 62, of Manning died Tuesday noon, January 27, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, where he had been a patient for two weeks. He had been in failing health for seven years.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Church, Manning, with the Rev. Norbert Weber as celebrant of the requiem mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Ohde, Funeral Home, Manning, where the rosary will be recited both' Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.

A son of Engelbert and Frances Schlichte Irlbeck, he was born September 5, 1907, near Templeton. His marriage to Margaret Underberg took place February 25, 1930, at Lidderdale with the Rev. Joseph Under berg performing the ceremony. The couple farmed near Templeton and 15 years ago moved, to a farm northwest of Manning.

Besides his wife, Mr. Irlbeck is survived by ten children: Bernard, John and Mrs. Frank Mary Ann) Irlmeier, Templeton: Jerome, Westside: Raymond and Thomas. Manning; Leroy, with the Army at Fort Leonard Wood. Mo.; James, Frederick and Eugene, at home; also 25 grandchildren and four brothers, Albert Irlbeck of Westside; A. T. Irlbeck of Manning, Sylvester and Felix Irlbeck, Templeton.

Mr. Irlbeck was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a sister, Mrs. Frances Kemper; and a brother, W. E. Irlbeck.


Alphonse Irlbeck is buried in the Manning Catholic Cemetery.
