Alvina Marie Hell was born September 9, 1908, at Manning, Iowa. She moved to Moody County, S.D. with her parents at an early age. She was married to Clarence W. Anderson on July 13, 1927, at Colman, S.D. They farmed north of Colman until 1957 when they moved to Wisconsin. They returned to South Dakota in 1974 and lived in Canton. She moved to Madison, S.D. after her husband's death in 1976. She was a member of the Colman Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Anderson was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Vernon, two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include: 3 sons Harold of Des Moines, Ia., Erwin of Vermillion, S.D. and Arlan of Wheaton, Ill.; 1 brother — Leonard Hill of Arlington, S.D.; 3 sisters Mrs. Alma Krogman of Flandreau, S.D.; Mrs. Elda Semple of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Mrs. Leona Jewett of Arlington, S.D.; 12 grandchildren.
