MRS. EMIL (ALVINA) FISCHER
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 24, 1974, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, Iowa, for Mrs. Emil (Alvina) Fischer. Pastor Edward F. Heinicke of the Zion Lutheran Church officiated. The singers were Mr. &Mrs. Howard Ahrenholtz, organist Mrs. Dorothy Kusel. Pallbearers were Walter Dammann, Kenneth Fogleman, George Fischer, Clarence Hunter, Al Beisch and Lyle O. Arp. Interment was in Layton Township Cemetery, Walnut, Iowa.

Alvina, daughter of Edward and Doris Boock Eckholdt, was born March 31, 1883, in Walnut, Iowa. As a baby she moved with her parents, to a farm near Arcadia. She was united in marriage with Joseph Heider on November 27, 1902. Three children were born to this union. Her husband passed away on January 20, 1938. On January 9, 1945, she was united in marriage with Emil Fischer of Walnut, Iowa. They have lived in the Manning community since that time.

Alvina passed away at the Manning Plaza on Sunday evening, July 21, 1974, at the age of 91 years, 3 months, 20 days. Beside her first husband, she was preceded in death by her three children: one daughter infancy and her other daughter and her son in March of 1965 about 24 hours apart; by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Emil; by four step children, Clifford Fischer, Hancock; Orvie Fischer, Avoca; Vernon & Lillian of California; one grandson, Gary Heider, Cherokee, Iowa; and one sister, Mrs. Laura Hamann, Manning, Ia. as well as by many other relatives and friends.
