Services Tomorrow For Alvina Kienast

Funeral services for Mrs. Alvina Augusta (Rutz) Kienast, 88, long-time resident of Columbus, who died yesterday morning at a Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Nursing Home will be held at 4 p m. tomorrow in the Ruhland-Murdock funeral chapel, with the Rev. Jack Matthews officiating. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery. The body will be brought to Columbus by the Keeley-Neekamp funeral home early Saturday morning and will lie in state at the Ruhland-Murdock Chapel until the funeral hour.

Born August 7, 1874, in Germany, Mrs. Kienast came to the United States with her parents when she was 12 years of age. The family settled in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew to womanhood. She later moved to Audubon County, Iowa, where she was married to Charles Kienast on October 9, 1890. Following their marriage they moved to Columbus where they lived until Mr. Kienast's death in 1950. Following her husband's death Mrs. Kienast moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Hilda Liaboe. Mrs. Liaboe died in an automobile accident in April 1962 and since that time Mrs. Kienast has resided in a nursing home in Bartlesville.

Mrs. Kienast was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Survivors include seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Relatives from this area are Mrs. Ethel Dungan, Columbus, daughter, in-law, Charles Kienast of Pittsburg, a grandson and Mrs. Colleen Coldiron, Prestwood, England, a granddaughter.

Note: Alvina was the daughter of Johann Erdman and Wilhelmina Caroline (Krey) Rutz.
