Funeral services were held Saturday for Mrs. Fred Gruhn, 78, who died Wednesday in a Manning nursing home following a long illness. Mrs. Gruhn (born Amanda Asmus) had lived in Manning for the past ten years and prior to that time lived on a farm near here. Her husband preceded her in death some five years ago. Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Grover Steen of Manning; Mrs. Albert Jansen of Springfield, South Dakota; Mrs. Freida Langbehn of South Dakota; Mrs. Louis Thompson of Harlan; Mrs. Albert Mahnke of Albert City; Mrs. Gilmer Anthony, Westside and Mrs. Lenus Anderson of Arcadia; two sons, Henry Gruhn of Manning, and Ed Gruhn of Botna. Services were at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, with the Rev. John M. Ansorge officiating. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.


Amanda Gruhn is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
