Funeral services for Anna Borkowski were held Monday, Sept. 10, 1984, 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Vicar Greg Hafeman officiating.

Dorothy Kusel was the organist for the services.

Interment was in Manning City Cemetery with Lavern Bald, Lyle Bald, Russell Dennis, Rodney Dennis, Duane Bald, and Lenus Haberl acting as casketbearers.

Anna, daughter of Jacob and Emma Meyer Bald, was born Oct. 12,1905 in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, Iowa. She attended country schools in Lincoln Township and parochial school at Trinity Lutheran.

Anna was united in marriage with Albert R. Borkowski on Feb. 21, 1934 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln Township. They farmed in Lincoln Township until 1965. However, they continued to live on the farm even though Albert had ------------- missing text ------------------ Church and the Mission Aid. Anna enjoyed her garden and flowers and spent many hours in her kitchen.

Anna died on Friday, Sept, 7, 1984 at the. Manning General Hospital where she had been a patient for less than a week.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one greatgrandson, Sergio Valdes, one sister, Ester Haberl, and one brother, Herman Bald.

Anna is survived by her children: Ruth and her husband, Roko Kovacevic of Cochabamba, Bolivia, Kermit and his wife, Phyllis of Audubon, Alerd and his wife, Judy of Manning, Merlin and his wife, Jean of Manning, Lorrell and his wife, Judy of Audubon, Irma and her husband, Gary Tate of Bloomingdale, ILL.; 18 grandchildren; 4 greatgrandchildren; and brothers and sisters: Fred Bald of Eugene, Oregon, Mrs. Rose Rubel of Audubon, Walter Bald of Manning.


Anna's children attended Bunker Hill Country School south of Manning.
Dorothy Kusel was one of their teachers.
