DEATH CALLS MRS. ANNA EHRICHS

Last Friday, February 9th, 1923, the community was shocked to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Anna Ehrichs nee Jurgensen. She was born February 24, 1855, in Dalf (correct spelling is Delve), Holstein, Germany, where she grew to womanhood and where she was baptized, and confirmed in the year 1867. She with her parents came to America and settled at Clinton County, Iowa, and in the 1872 she was married to John Ehrichs of Clinton County. Here they lived on a farm 3 years.

In 1881 they moved on a farm near Deloit and several years later they moved on a farm northwest of Aspinwall where they lived until 1907, when they decided to retire and came to Aspinwall.

The deceased at her death was 67 years, 11 months and 16 days. The funeral services were held at Aspinwall Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Wiegand of Manilla. The body was taken to Manilla Cemetery where it was laid to rest. Anna Ehrichs leaves to mourn her death her husband and twelve children. Two children have preceded the mother in death. Peter at the age of one year and Annie (Mrs. George) Schade at the age of twenty-four. The children living are: Mrs. Emil Tollgaard and Henry Ehrichs of Flandreau, South Dakota; Bernhardt, of North Dakota; Mrs. Hugo Brus of Audubon County; Christ, John, Herman, Alfred, August, Emil, Louie, and Frank, all in and near Aspinwall; also twenty-two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and many more relatives and friends.
