Mass of the Christian Burial for Anna Eickman was held Thursday, June 22, 1989, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Manning, Iowa. Reverend Father Ralph Reinhart officiated the service with the Sacred Heart Choir providing the music. Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Manning, with her grandsons, Jeff Grimm, Chad Grimm, Dick Eickman, Randy Eickman, Glen Eickman, and Lynn Eickman, serving as casketbearers. Rosaries were held Wednesday, June 21, 1989, at 3:45 and 7:30 p.m., with a scriptural prayer service at 8:00 p.m. at Ohde Funeral Home.

Anna, daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Waltersheid) Bellinghausen, was born August 26, 1902, at Halbur, Iowa. She attended school at Roselle.

On February 17, 1925, Anna was united in marriage with Frank Eickman at Roselle. They farmed in the Templeton area for 44 years, retiring in 1969 at which time they moved to Manning where they have resided since.

Anna was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Manning, the Catholic Daughters of America, the Altar Society, the VFW Auxiliary, and the Little Flower Study Club. She also enjoyed membership in various quilting and card groups.

Anna died on Tuesday, June 20, 1989, at Manning General Hospital, after a short stay there. She was 86 years, 9 months, and 25 days of age.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by a son, Floyd; by a grandson, Bill Eickman; by four brothers; and by two sisters.

Anna is survived by her husband, Frank, of Manning; by her children: Maurice and his wife, Dorothy, of Templeton; Muriel Grimm, of Missouri Valley; Jane Catalani and her husband, Michael, of San Antonio, Texas; and Myra Leitner and her husband, Jim, of New Orleans, Louisiana; by a daughter-in-law, Marita Meiners and her husband, Bernard, of Dedham; by 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; by two sisters, Christina Reiman, of Auburn and Louise Zubrod, of Manning; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
