Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Marie Hass were held Wednesday afternoon of this week at 2 o'clock at the Lutheran Church in this city, the pastor, Rev. William Frese, officiating, after which interment was made in the Hayes Township Cemetery. The services were largely attended by old time friends and neighbors who gathered to pay their last respects to this good woman.

Mrs. Hass departed this life Sunday, July 3, 1927, at 10:30 o'clock in the morning, at the home of her son, William Hass, near Westside, at the age of 72 years, 4 months, and 12 days.

Anna Marie Meeves was born February 21, 1855, at Clinton, Iowa. On March 7, 1883, she was united in holy wedlock to Claus Hass at Carroll, Iowa. The husband departed this life in August 1925. Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hass, all of whom are left to mourn the loss of the mother, namely: Mrs. Carl Otto, Manilla; Julius Hass, Manning; Mrs. George Beck, Vail; and William Hass, of Westside.

In 1921, Mr. and Mrs. Hass retired from the farm and moved to Denison to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

In addition to the children, Mrs. Hass leaves to mourn her loss two brothers: Henry Meeves, of Virgil, South Dakota; and John Meeves, residing in California, and a sister Mrs. Henry Schlintz, of Holstein.

Mrs. Hass was a devoted wife and mother and endeared herself to everyone by her happy disposition and charitable acts of kindness to those who were in trouble. She will be greatly missed not only by the members of her immediate family, but by a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
