DEATH OF MRS. HOFFMANN.
This forenoon at 10:30, at the family residence on the corner of Fifth and Center streets, occurred the death of Mrs. Annie Hoffmann, wife of Mr. Henry Hoffmann, death being caused from inflammation of the stomach, after an illness of five days. All that medical skill, loving hearts and tender hands could do was done for the suffering lady, but to no avail; the reap of death did its cruel work, and the happy family of a few days ago is bowed in grief.

Deceased was a native of Germany, and was 28 years of age at the time of her death. In September 1882 she was united in marriage to her present husband, three bright children, two boys and a girl having blessed their union, the youngest being but ten months of age. In the death of Mrs. Hoffmann Manning loses one of its best women, a dutiful wife and mother, a warm hearted neighbor and true friend. Her many deeds of womanly kindness will long be remembered by those who knew her best. The bereaved husband and motherless children have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.

The funeral will be held from the family residence Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock; the Rev. A. Ehlers, of the German Lutheran Church conducting the services. The remains will be lain to peaceful rest in the family vault in the Manning Cemetery.
