Death of Anna Kitson.
On Monday evening, November 20, 1907, we received the sad news of Anna's death. She had been very ill with meningitis for thirteen weeks at the M.E. Hospital, in Des Moines. During all this time she was cared for by her loving sister, Ethel. The funeral was held at the First Methodist Church of Audubon, November 20, Rev. Vedder conducting the services, assisted by Rev. Yaggy, of Viola Center.

In his well-chosen words he told us that Anna joined the Grace Methodist church, of Des Moines, in September of 1906 and was an active member of Sunday School and Epworth League. It was at League, August 25, that she took sick, and two days later was taken to the hospital and her relatives were summoned.

Anna Belle Kitson was born in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, August 3, 1886. She attended country school until she was graduated at the age of thirteen. At the age of sixteen she enrolled in the tenth grade of the Manning High School for a year's work. At the age of seventeen she took a certificate for her Normal grades earned the year before. Anna was an excellent teacher, interested in every pupil, receiving in return for her pains the utmost respect and love from pupils and parents. She taught the same school for three years, then went to Des Moines where she graduated as stenographer from the C.C.C.C. At the time of her illness she was filling a position with the Register and Leader.

The floral tributes were many and beautiful and were presented by her friends and relatives. She leaves a father, mother, two sisters and three brothers to mourn her loss. No one knew Anna but to love her and she will be greatly missed by all.
