Father Of August Braun Will Be Buried Here

August Braun, father of August Braun, Jr., of Gray, formerly of Manning, will be laid to rest here this afternoon. Funeral services will be held at the Zion Lutheran church with Rev. John Ansorge officiating. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery. The deceased died Sunday as the result of a truck accident at Minot, North Dakota.

August Braun was born August 29, 1862, in Eckersdorf, East Prussia, Germany. In the year 1886 he was united in marriage with Henrietta Gruhn to which union eleven children were born.

The family came to America in 1901 and settled at Manning. In 1911 they moved to Minot, North Dakota, where he resided with his family until the day he met with accidental death in a truck mishap, which was a shock to his family and friends, especially to his true helpmate and wife.

Of the eleven children born to Mr. and Mrs. Braun, only five survive, six having passed away in early youth.

Those who are left to mourn his death besides his bereaved wife are three sons; August of Gray, Iowa; Fredrich and Max both of Minot, North Dakota; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Woelk of Flandreau, South Dakota, and Mrs. Emma Kienast of Gray, Iowa. He also leaves fifteen grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Louise Olschefski and many other relatives and friends.

As pall bearers acted, Carl Borkowski, William Schultz, Adolph Porsch, Fred Friedrichsen, Fred Spies, and Marvin Lamp.

Mr. Braun was a very conscientious and upright citizen, honest and true, a hard worker and a well provider or his family. He has a host of friends in this vicinity who are extending their deepest sympathy to the bereaved family in their hour of sorrow.
