Born April 22, 1870 in Germany.
In 1886 she was married to Hans Derner and they located north of Manning and later to a farm near Botna until 1921 when they went to Rock Island, Illinois and built themselves a home.

Mrs. Derner passed away at Rock Island on November 20, 1945 at the age of 75 years, 6 months, 28 days. She had been an invalid for three years.

Pallbearers were R.G. Sutherland, Vertus Lamp, Grover Steen, William Nulle, Herman Pfoltner and Emil Steen.
Augusta had one sister, Mary Scott of Harlan, Iowa and one brother, William Stein of Manning.
