WATERTOWN, S.D. Augusta Bertha Elfring, 87, 427 4th St. N.E., died June 28 in a local hospital following an illness of several months.

Funeral services were held July 2 in St. Martin's Lutheran church. The Rev. W.A. Schuman officiated. Burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery.

Mrs. Elfring was born Jan. 27, 1878, in Pommern, Germany the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David. She married John H. Elfring Sept. 3, 1930 in Watertown.

She came from Germany with her parents when she was eight years old and settled in Iowa. She came to Watertown in about 1920,

She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith April 10, 1892, in Audubon County, Iowa, and for many years a member of St. Martin 's Lutheran church. She was a former member of the Ladies Aid.

Surviving are her brother, Albert David of Audubon, and many nieces and nephews living in the Watertown vicinity and in Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and two brothers.
