Berdine Estella Ehrichs was born March 14, 1919, the daughter of John and Ella (Mordhorst) Rowedder. She died at the St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska on Monday, January 12, 1998 at the age of seventy-eight.

Berdine was born near Aspinwall, Iowa, and was baptized in Christ on August 3, 1923, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Denison and confirmed on April 17, 1941, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Manning. She grew up around Aspinwall and received her education in a rural school near her home. After completing her education, Berdine helped the Ed Kuhl family.

On June 7, 1939, Berdine was united in marriage to Wilmer Ehrichs at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage in Manning, Iowa. The couple settled in Aspinwall and were blessed with the birth of nine children. In 1953, the couple moved to Denison, where Berdine helped out with the family business, Ehrichs Motors.

Berdine was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Denison, an active member of the Ladies Aid and was also a charter member of the Ladies Aid in Aspinwall. She devoted her life to caring for her family and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She enjoyed embroidering, cross-stitching and other fancy needle work. In her leisure time, Berdine loved to bowl, go fishing and play cards.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Beverly and Deborah; two granddaughters, Tamera Mitchell, Andrea Ehrichs; two great-granddaughters, Moriah Mitchell, Shauna Siemer, three brothers, Leonard Rowedder in infancy, Gilbert and Virgil Rowedder. Survivors include her husband, Wilmer of Denison; five daughters, Janet Cornelius of Parkville, Missouri; Judith Messenbrink and her husband, Louis "Buzz" of Schleswig; Barbara Siemer and her husband, Roger of Denison; Bonnie Davenport of Coraville, Iowa; Sandra Ahrenholtz and her husband, Eugene of Denison; two sons, Rev. Randal Ehrichs and his wife, Robin of Cole Camp, Missouri; Thomas Ehrichs of Louisville, Texas seventeen grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren and one step great-great-grandchild; one sister, Joann Mohr and her husband, Russell of Manning; one brother, LeRoy Rowedder and his wife, Winona of Manning; three sisters-in-law, Ethel Rowedder of California; Colene (Gray) Rowedder of Manning, Verna (Ehrichs) Buthman of Irwin; other relatives and friends.
