Bernice Glime

Bernice Magdelena, daughter of George and Caroline Anna (Kruse) Carstens, was born September 21, 1913, in Manning, Iowa. Her mother died in the flu epidemic in 1917. When she was 13 years old, her father married Emma (Summerville) Haupt who then helped raise her. She graduated from Manning High School in 1931, and then attended two years of business school.

In 1997 when her health began to fail, she moved to Lenoir Health Center in Columbia. Bernice died at University Hospitals, Columbia, MO, on Sunday, November 25, 2001, at the age of 88 years, 2 months, and 5 days.
