Bernice E. Hulse

A graveside service for Bernice Ellen Hulse will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2005, at the Sterling Cemetery, near Jacksonville, Oregon.

Mrs. Hulse, 80, of Central Point, died Monday, May 23, 2005, at a Central Point Foster home. She was born June 17, 1924, near Manning, the daughter of Lou and Anna (LeBeck) Kusel of Audubon County, Iowa, and moved to the Rogue Valley, Oregon, as a child.

On August 8, 1942, in Jacksonville, Oregon, she married Sylvester Hulse who preceded her in death in 1974. She worked as a dishwasher and cook at Stanley & 39's Restaurant in Medford for 14 years, and led picking crews in orchards and packing houses. Mrs. Hulse also worked as a cook for the Civilian Conservation Corp.

Surviving are three sons: Perry Hulse of Applegate, Oregon, Garry Hulse of Springfield, Oregon, and Lonnie Hulse of Gold Hill, Oregon; two brothers, William Kusel of White City, and Larry Kusel of White City; three sisters, Devoil Gentry, Helen Jordan of Corvallis, Oregon, and Rosemary Davis of Phoenix, Oregon; and eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
