Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Koon, 41, were held on Tuesday, morning, Sept 9, at 9:00 at Sacred Heart church in Manning, with the Rev Thomas Molloy officiating. Burial was in St. John's cemetery in Arcadia.

Mrs. Koon, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mescher, was born April 1, 1917 at Arcadia, where she graduated from high school. She had lived in Manning the past 12 years, and was employed by Priebe and Co.

Mrs. Koon died at St. Anthony hospital in Carroll on the morning of September 6, 1958, after being injured in an auto accident on the previous evening.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Peter (Shannon) Goeser, Harlan; two sons, Thomas J. stationed at Sasebo, Japan; and Gary Edward, stationed with the Navy at San Diego, Calif.; a granddaughter, Kathy Lynn Goeser; a brother, Cy Mescher, Carroll; and a sister, Mrs. Joe (Mildred) Horbach, Manning.

She was a member of Sacred Heart parish. Rev Thomas Molloy led the Rosary for Mrs. Koon at 7:45 Monday evening, at the Ohde Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mrs. Melvin Jentsch of Manning.
