Beth Ann Blum, age 37, of Wall Lake, died Monday, December 17, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City following a brief illness.
Beth Ann Brotherton was born February 28, 1964, in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Charles "Chuck" and Betty (Roth) Brotherton. She graduated from Wall Lake High School in 1982 and from Buena Vista College in 1987.

On September 30, 1989, she was married to Al Blum at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake.

Beth Ann was an elementary teacher at Holy Spirit School in Carroll, St. Mary's School in Storm Lake and at Shelby-Tennant Schools at Shelby. She was an air freight coordinator at Computer Transportation Services in Breda. She had just started a new job at LAP Midwest in Wall Lake.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Guild.

She is survived by her husband Al; her children: Morgan, Madison and Maxwell; her parents; her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Howard Brotherton, all of Wall Lake; a sister Amy Stickrod and her husband Dave, Glenwood; two brothers: William and his wife Deb and Chris and his wife Carmen, all of Wall Lake; her parents-in-law Richard "Doc" and Maria Blum, Wall Lake; sisters-in-law: Sue Iversen and her husband Bret, Odebolt, Ann Jacobsen and her husband Brad, Wall Lake, Cindy Tiefenthaler and her husband Brent, Breda and Donna Aldag and her husband Ted, Wall Lake; brother-in-law Eric Blum, Wall Lake and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother John; her maternal grandparents Roy and Esther Roth and her paternal great-grandparents C.W. and Jo Brotherton.

Historical notes: Beth and all of her siblings attended Manning Schools during the time her father was a teacher and principal while at Manning from 1957 through 1974. Amy is the only sibling to graduate from Manning High School in 1975.
