Bonita M. Kahler

Bonita M. Kahler, 79, of Cheyenne passed away September 15 at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne.

Mrs. Kahler was born April 28, 1930, in Manning, Iowa, and moved to Cheyenne in 1947 to be with her sister upon graduation.
On August 2, 1950, she married John E. Kahler, of Pipestone, Minnesota, in her hometown of Manning and then came back to Cheyenne to build and raise a family.
In 1965, Mrs. Kahler bought a motel in Cody with her husband that they ran for 10 years, and was also involved in numerous entrepreneurial endeavors in addition to her full-time job raising her five children.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Cathedral Guild.

Mrs. Kahler is survived by her husband, John Kahler of Cheyenne; two daughters, Chris Kahler of Riverdale, New York, and Kim Kahler of Phoenix; two sons, Craig Kahler and his wife, Lynn, of Casper and Todd Kahler of Cheyenne; two sisters, Genevieve Handlos of Manning and Dorothy Kerkhoff of Audubon, Iowa; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Boniface and Bernadine Kasperbauer; three brothers, Jerome, Raymond, and Donald Kasperbauer; and her daughter, Lori Kahler.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Gary J. Ruzicka as celebrant. Interment will be in Olivet Cemetery.
