Mrs. Lena Grimm, 92, of Manning, died Wednesday, February 4, 1981, at Manning General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7, at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke officiating. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.
Organist will be Dorothy Kusel. Pallbearers will be Lester Genzen, Leonard Petersen, Elmer Petersen, Raymond Grimm, Kenneth Ewoldt, and Judson Petersen.
Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Blondina Carstens, Manning, and Mrs. Julius (Neami) Schroeder, Manning; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Marie Misselhorn, Manning; Mrs. Malinda Grage, Manning, and Mrs. Alma Petersen, Hardwicke, Minnesota; a sister-in-law Mrs. Annie Ewoldt, Manilla; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, brother, Carl and sister, Lilly.
Caroline Christina "Lena" was born October 12, 1888, in Audubon County, a daughter of Jacob and Katharina (Carlsen) Petersen. She was married to John F. Grimm November 3, 1909, at Manning.
They farmed for a number of years before moving to Manning in 1924. She worked for many years at the Priebe Hatchery. He died March 10, 1941, and she continued to live in Manning. She suffered a severe fall November 1, 1980, and entered the Manning Hospital on February 1, 1981.
