Funeral services for Charles Arthur Case, 81, retired
Milwaukee station agent, were held at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning on Wednesday
afternoon, Feb 23, 1966 at 2:00, with Rev M J Nash of the Methodist Church officiating.
Burial was in the Lanesboro Cemetery.
Son of Alexander B. and Susan Chappell Case, he was born Dec 28, 1884 near Logan in Harrison County. He lived near Atkins and Neola and graduated from Woodbine High School, and the Woodbine Telegraphy School in 1904.
He was married to Edith Waldemar at Logan on Aug 26, 1908. They lived at Neola, then at Aspinwall until 1913; at Panama until 1926; Wyoming until 1931 and came to Manning that year. He retired in 1954 after 48 years with the Milwaukee RR.
Mr. Case died at St. Anthony Hospital on Monday afternoon, Feb 21. He was a member of the Manning Methodist Church and had served in many church offices. He was a member of the Order of Railway Telegraphers, and was active in civic affairs while living in Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters: Mrs. Vergie Welch, Des Moines; Mrs. Leon (Vera) Hobbs, Glidden; Mrs Eddie (Elaine) Gilley, Anchorage, Alaska and seven grandchildren.
