Cheryl Beckman

Cheryl Beckman, 44, of Omaha, Nebraska, and formerly of Halbur, died Thursday, July 16, 1992, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha of lymphoma, a form of cancer.

Funeral services for Cheryl Beckman were held Monday, July 20, 1992, at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, Omaha. A concelebrated mass was held by Fathers Francis Kenny, Don Bruck, Ceperly and Wilberding. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery, Omaha. A rosary service was held Sunday, July 19, at 7:00 p.m. at the Heafey, Heafey, Hoffmann, Dvorak and Cutler Mortuary in Omaha.

Mrs. Beckman was born November 7, 1947, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, the, daughter of Eugene and Rita Koenig. She attended school in Halbur and graduated from Kuemper High School. She received her bachelor's degree in physical education at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville and received a master's degree from University of Nebraska, Omaha.

She married Eugene Beckman on September 4, 1967, at St. Augustine's Church in Halbur. Mrs. Beckman was a physical education teacher at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School and also taught elementary education classes at Creighton University and the University of Nebraska, both in Omaha. Her husband is a regional manager for Dataport Technology based in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Koenig.

Mrs. Beckman is survived by her husband, Eugene; two daughters, Cynthia Meyer and her husband, Art, of Omaha and Jennifer Thomas and her husband, Shawn, of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two sons, Adam and Brain, both of Omaha; her mother, Rita Koenig, of Halbur; a sister, Marlene Koenig, of Omaha; two brothers, Gene Koenig and his wife, Carol, of Omaha and Bob Koenig and his wife, Kathy, of Wichita, Kansas, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alvina and Gerhardt (Butch) Beckman of Manning, and several nieces and nephews.
