Chris Ehrichs, prominent Aspinwall citizen died at his home here Friday. Mr. Ehrichs who had suffered a series of strokes since 1939, became seriously ill, Wednesday night. His condition was such that not much hope was held for his recovery. Medical science and loving care was all to no avail and he peacefully passed away to his reward on the afternoon of June 4.

About seventeen years ago the deceased was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He remained a faithful member since that time. At the time of his death he had attained the age of 67 years, 7 months, and 11 days.

Funeral services were held at two o'clock Monday afternoon at the Lutheran church at Manning, with the Rev. John M. Ansorge officiating. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery and pallbearers were H.E. Kuhl, William Hansen, Frank Meggers, Hans Clausen, Ed Georgius, and Claus Strosahl.

Chris Ehrichs, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ehrichs was born October 23, 1875, at Clinton County, Iowa. In1881, he came to Crawford County with his parents. In 1911 he was married to Anna (Schroeder) Kruse. The couple took up farming in Iowa Township until the death of Mrs. Ehrichs in June 1929. In 1932 Mr. Ehrichs retired to Aspinwall.

On January 30, 1935 he was married to Caroline Kuhl.

Surviving are his wife, one daughter (Marie), Mrs. Lewis Hagedorn; two stepsons, Art Kruse and Edward Kruse of Iowa Township, and eight grandchildren. Also two sisters, Mrs. Tena Tollgaard of Aspinwall, Mrs. Hugo Brus of Gray and nine brothers, Henry of Flandreau, South Dakota; John of Norfolk, Nebraska; Ben of Halstead, Minnesota; Emil of Denison; Alfred of Manning; August, Herman, Frank, and Louie all of Aspinwall, and a large host of other relatives and friends.


Chris Ehrichs is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
