Clara, daughter of John and Hannah (Sievertsen) Jochimsen, was born August 16, 1878, in Bryant, Iowa. At the age of 10 she came with her family to Audubon County and later moved to Crawford County.

She was united in Marriage with Fred Lohrmann on February 9, 1900. During the first years of their married life they farmed 3 3/4 miles north of Manning and later farmed in Crawford County. In 1944 they moved to Westside where Clara's husband was Town Marshal for about 12 years. Fred and Clara were privileged to celebrate their 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries with an open house and their 65th wedding anniversary with a small family gathering.

Fred died in Westside on April 25, 1965. Clara continued to make her home in Westside until she entered the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison eleven years ago. Clara has spent, over 75 years of her life in Crawford County.

Clara was the oldest and the last of her family. She died at the Eventide Home May 5, 1982, at the age of 103 years, 8 months, and 19 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by a daughter, Ada Frahm, on July 9, 1973, by her husband, by four sisters, two brothers and by one grandchild and one great grandchild.

She is survived by four children, Elva Massman of Westside, Lora Sander of California, Frenz Lohrmann of Manning and Arla (Mrs. Dammam) of Manning. By 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and by one great-great-great-grandchild.

Clara was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Manning, and was confirmed by Pastor John M. Ansorge in 1927. She was a member of the Aspinwall Ladies Aid and an associate member of the Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid.

Funeral services were held May 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Manning with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke, officiating.

Organist was Dorothy Kusel. Pallbearers were Verle Massman, Gene Lohrmann, Donavan Sander, Dale Dammann, Larry Lohrmann, and David Dammann. Interment was in the Manning Cemetery
