December 1, 1976 Clarence Grundmeier was a resident of Manning, Carroll County,
IA.
MANNING - Clarence Grundmeier, 79, of Manning died unexpectedly at his home
Monday afternoon, November 29.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning with
the Rev. Joel Wright of the Presbyterian Church of Manning officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Grundmeier, Glen Jensen, Roy Struve, Kenny Jensen,
Larry Popp and George Musfeldt. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery under
the direction of the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning.
Mr. Grundmeier, son of Hugo and Kate (Koepke) Grundmeier, was born on December
1, 1896, at Manning. He attended schools at Manning. His marriage to Hulda
Jensen took place on December 24, 1919, at Manning.
They farmed near Halbur and later moved to Manning and he was employed at the
Manning Creamery Company. In 1942 he started the Grundmeier Hatchery in Manning
and retired about 15 years ago.
Surviving are five children; Grant Grundmeier of Northwood, Mrs. Merlyn
(Lorraine) Hargens of Manning, Mrs. Gale (Joanne) Moore of Manning, Mrs. Elvin
(Shirley) McConnell of Coon Rapids and Gerald
Grundmeier of Yucaipa, Calif. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, nine
great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Katie Keller of Pipestone, Minn., and
Mrs. Clarence (Alice) Pare of Divernon, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife, on November 11, 1969; three
grandchildren, his parents and two brothers, Ernest and Hugo Grundmeier.
