Cletta Louise, daughter of John and Emma (Schenking) Reinart, was born June 24, 1921, in Halbur, Iowa. She grew up in Halbur and attended most of her school in Manning. Cletta then worked at the Westside Cafe.

On August 20, 1940, Cletta was united in marriage with Joseph Paul Hoffman in Manning. Four children were born to this union. While Joe worked at Manning Creamery, Cletta stayed at home to care for the children. Around 1960 Cletta started working for Saunder's Steak House and then the Uptown Market. After Joe retired, they continued to live in Manning except for the years of 1979-1984 when they lived in Boone. While in Boone they enjoyed helping their daughter Betty in her restaurant. Joe died November 22, 1991.

Cletta was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Manning. Throughout the years she participated in the Rosary Society and was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She enjoyed embroidery, latch-hook and gardening.

In 1989, Cletta became a resident of the Manning Plaza Nursing Home in Manning where she died Thursday, December 28, 2000. She was 79 years, 6 months and 4 days of age.

Besides her parents and husband, Cletta was preceded in death by five brothers: Clarence Reinart; Harold Reinart; Hilbert Reinart; and two brothers in infancy.

She is survived by four children: Betty and her husband Bob Waterbury of El Cajon, California; Melvin Hoffman and his wife Helen of Rawlins, Wyoming; Hilbert Hoffman and his wife Debra of Orlando, Florida; Barbara and her husband Jerome Riesenberg of Roselle; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; brothers: Leo Reinart and his wife Ruth of Sergeant Bluff; Melvin Reinart and his wife Geraldine of Orlando, Florida; a sister Elvira and her husband John Sporrer of Glidden; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
