Conrad Jones Jr., son of Conrad Jones Sr. and Alma Sindt Jones, was born April 15, 1933, at Manning General Hospital in Manning, Iowa. He attended Manning schools before starting to work on the family farm south of Manning. In 1971, Conrad started working for other farmers and held various jobs in other farm related businesses. He lived primarily in Audubon County and eventually settled in Hamlin. He had a talent and passion for working with horses and had his own business training horses. He never totally retired, always keeping busy with horses.

He was a member of the Audubon County Saddle Club, Audubon County 4-H, Crime Stoppers of Audubon and the Pony Express. He was a long time supporter of Camp Sunnyside, participating in their rides to raise money. Over the years, he provided pony rides at many events in the area so that others could enjoy horses as he did. Conrad was also interested in exotic birds.

When his health began to fail, Conrad became a resident of Friendship Home in Audubon. He died on Monday, March 30, 2009, at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 15 days.

Preceding him in death are his parents; son Conrad Jones; brother Bernard Jones and sister Clarice Weinbrandt.
