Mr. Callison Dead.

Word comes from Cumming, Iowa, the latter part of last week that Mr. Callison, brother of Mrs. Samuel Bingham, of south of town, had died. Mr. and Mrs. Bingham left Saturday to attend the funeral. Mr. Callison formerly owned land south of Manning, coming here in an early day with Mr. Bingham to buy it. He is one of the most wealthy men in his section of the state and leaves a great many relatives and friends to mourn his death.

Cyrus G. Callison

Cyrus G. Callison was born in Greenbrier County, Virginia, September 20, 1831. At the age of three years his parents moved to Vermillion County, Illinois, settling near Georgetown, where he grew to manhood. He was married to Mary Golden September 17, 1854. They came to Warren Township, living on the homestead until death.

Seven children were born to them, two, with the mother, preceding him to the spirit world, and five still living, Mrs. Martha Houson, of Cumming; Calvin and Frazier of Gage, Oklahoma; C. William of Manning and Jacob G. of Cumming. Iowa.

In February 1874, he was converted and joined the Friends Church, continuing a faithful member to the end. He was quiet and reserved, but his Christian experience was positive and deep. In his commercial life he was strictly honest and upright in all his dealings. He died at Cumming, Iowa, April 30, 1910, at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 10 days.
