Douglas Fredrick, son of Dale F. and Carolyn S. Bear Dammann, was born March 20, 1971, at Manning, Iowa. On April 18, 1971, he was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church. Doug attended Manning schools. He was confirmed on May 5, 1985, also at Zion Lutheran Church. After his graduation from Manning High School in 1989, Doug attended Southwestern Community College in Creston, studying auto body repair.

On December 28, 1990, Doug was united in marriage with Karol Mills in Manning. Two children were born to this union. They lived in Des Moines where Doug worked in auto body repair. They returned to Manning in 1991 and Doug worked for various businesses in the area. Then in February of 1999 he moved to Wyoming to work at Ganes Production.

Doug was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. When he lived in Manning he was also a member of the Manning Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and tinkering with and restoring vehicles and motors.

Doug died as a result of a motor vehicle accident near Gillette, Wyoming, on Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at the age of 28 years, 4 months, and 8 days of age.

Doug is preceded in death by his father Dale Dammann; grandfather William Dammann; and grandparents Fred and Vera Bear.

Doug is survived by two children: Kayla Dammann and Alex Dammann; mother Carolyn Dammann; grandmother Arla Dammann; all of Manning; sister Shannon and her husband Cory Honold and their daughter Bailey of Wakefield, NE; the mother of his children Karol Dammann of Manning; and by aunts, uncles, many cousins; other relatives and friends.
