Dolores Gunilda Darveaux was born to Arthur and Loretta (Trecker) Hinners on December 1, 1927, in Arcadia, Iowa, where she was raised and attended country school near Manning, Iowa. Later, she moved with her family to Halbur, Iowa, and attended St. Angela's Academy for girls in Carroll, Iowa, graduating in 1945. She then attended Creighton Memorial St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska where she graduated in 1948 as an RN. On May 31, 1949, she was united in marriage to Henry Darveaux at St. John's Catholic Church in Omaha. Following their marriage, they lived in Omaha. During this time, she was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital, Clarkston Hospital and worked as an office nurse for a group of Doctors. In 1955, they moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa and then moved to Perry, Iowa where she was employed at the Lutheran Home. In 1972, they moved to Pipestone, Minnesota and they bought a grocery store which they named Hank's Foods. In the following years she played the part of mother and cared for her children so that Hank could run the grocery store. In the fall of 2016, they moved into Ridgeview Estates in Pipestone. She died there on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at the age of 89 years, two months, and 17 days.

Dolores was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church in Pipestone where she was on the council of Catholic Women and a member of Catholic Daughters of America. She also spent many hours making rosaries. She was an avid reader and scrabble champ. She loved to play bridge, golf, and was a member of a card club. Her many friends in Pipestone will miss the good times had with Dolores. She traveled all over the world on many adventures with her dear husband, Hank. She especially loved spending time with her family.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years, Hank Darveaux of Pipestone, Minnesota; 11 children, Daniel (Rita) Darveaux of Austin, Minnesota, Sandra Ramplin of Omaha, Nebraska, Gary (Jacqueline) Darveaux of Gilbert, Arizona, Michele Darveaux of Plymouth, Minnesota, Timothy (Dorothy) Darveaux of Pipestone, Thomas (Paula) Darveaux of Pipestone, Robert (Pam) Darveaux of Corona del Mar, California, Richard (Dana) Darveaux of Clear Lake, Iowa, Mark Darveaux of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Paul Darveaux of Windom, Minnesota, and Nicole (John) Bryan of Apple Valley, Minnesota; 29 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; six siblings, Marjorie (Ray) Hacker of Halbur, Iowa, Donald (Lois) Hinners of Carroll, Iowa, Arden (Judy) Hinners of Carroll, Larry (Della) Hinners of Manning, Iowa, Richard (Helen) Hinners of Carroll, and Jack (Lois) Hinners of Manning; and sisters-in-law, Margaret Hinners of Manning and Bernita Darveaux of Alexandria, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, David Darveaux; brother, Vernon Hinners; sister, Jeanette Eischeid; and brother-in-law, Ted Eischeid.
