Dora Jordan

Dora (Schoening) Jordan was born in Manning, Iowa, March 14, 1894. She was the daughter of F.A. and Augusta Schoening, both of whom preceded her in death. She was educated in the Manning public schools. On October 29, 1917, she was married to Arthur Garfield Jordan, at Rock Island, Ill. She divorced him March 17, 1924, at Peoria, Ill. During the past few months she made her home with her sister at Omaha, Neb., where she died March 18, 1925, at the age of 31 years and four days.

There are nine sisters and brothers left to mourn her death: Ferdinand and Robert Schoening, Lakefield, Minn.; Albert Schoening, Manning; August Schoening, San Diego, Cal.; Mrs. H.C. Harden, Gilbertville, Ia.; Mrs. J.E. Williams, Omaha, Neb.; Mrs. O. E. Steffen, San Francisco, Cal.; Mrs. H. F. Downey, Drew, Oregon, and Erna Schoening, Des Moines, Iowa. There are also twenty-one nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church, Manning, on Sunday afternoon, March 22, conducted by the Rev. Harry Coates, after which interment was made in the local cemetery.

Last Thursday we received the sad news of the untimely death of Dora (Schoening) Jordan of Omaha, who came to her death by the hands of her divorced husband.

Her remains were brought to Manning to the home of her brother, Albert. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Methodist Church, the Rev. Harry Coates officiating. Interment was Made in the Manning Cemetery.

She leaves to mourn her demise three brothers and six sisters. Her father and mother proceeded her to the great beyond. We join with the sorrowing relatives and friends in our expression of sympathy.
