Dorthea Belle Kooiman, 109, of Palm Desert, California, died August 28, 1998, at Manor Care in Palm Desert.

She was born October 5, 1888, to Herman and Anna (Wunderlich) Kusel near Manning, Iowa.

She was a sales clerk for 29 years and was last employed by May Co.
She is survived by a nephew Vincent Kusel of Palm Desert.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur C. Kooiman in 1984.

Private services were under the direction of FitzHenry Funeral Home in Indio, California.
