EDNA S. KERWIN

Funeral services for Mrs. Edna S. Kerwin were held Saturday, July 30, 1983, 11:00 a.m. at McFadden Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa, with the Rev. Andrew J. Hofer, Pastor, First Presbyterian Church, Audubon, officiating. Music was by Mr. Merrill Womach and special hymns, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" & "In The Garden". Interment was in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Audubon, with Eddie Fischer, Roger Hinz, Glen Jensen, Donald Joens, Arthur Rix, and Roy Sander as casketbearers.

Edna S. Kerwin, the daughter of William P. and Leffie J. (Olson) Peterson, died at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 22 days.

She was baptized January 2, 1898, and received her education in Morris, Illinois, and moved with her family to Audubon County in 1916.

On April 21, 1923, she married Leo P. Kerwin. They farmed near Audubon until 1928 when they moved to Manning, Iowa, where she worked in a ladies' clothing store for many years. Edna was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Manning and the American Legion Auxiliary. She became a resident of the Friendship Home in September of 1982.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Leo, in 1963; her parents; 4 brothers; Henry Peterson, Pierce Peterson, Cyrus Peterson & Weir Peterson; and a sister, Allie Cryder.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Maurine & Grant Lewis, of Princeton, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Wynona Peterson of Exira, Iowa, and several nieces & nephews
