EDWARD GRIMM LOSES LIFE IN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT
Edward Grimm was almost instantly killed last Friday night, December 11, 1925, in an automobile accident on highway 18, two miles south of Templeton.

Mr. and Mrs. Grimm, Richard Schneckloth and Sid Livingston had spent the evening at the home of Frank Sturm, who lives 2 miles south and one half mile west of Templeton.

They were riding in Mr. Livingston's car. He was driving and just as he reached 18 the lights went out, and he missed the grade just enough to let the wheels slide off the grade, which is high at this point, and the car turned over. Mrs. Grimm and Mr. Schneckloth tore off the curtains and got out, but they could not lift the car enough to liberate Mr. Grimm and Mr. Livingston.

Mr. Schneckloth hurried back to the Sturm place for help. They phoned Dr. Morganthaler, who, with the people from Templeton reached the wreck about the time Schneckloth and Sturm did. The doctor found that Mr. Grimm was dead. He was taken to Templeton and William Ohde was called, who brought the body to the Ohde undertaking parlors here. He leaves a wife and ten children, 7 boys and 3 girls. The oldest boy is 20 and the oldest girl 22 years old. The funeral was held at the Presbyterian Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. E.E. Zimmerman officiating.

Edward Peter Grimm was born April 28, 1881. He married Dora (Vinke) Grimm in 1900.
Edward was the son of Claus and Anna (Schwiesow) Grimm.

Funeral Conducted Tuesday From Presbyterian Church and Interment made in Manning.

Edward Grimm, 44 years of age, was instantly killed last Friday evening, December 11, 1925, when the auto in which he was riding went off the grade three miles south of Templeton, and the car turned over, pinning the occupants under it.

According to word that reaches this city, Mr. and Mrs. Grimm were riding with Selby Livingston, and the grade being slippery, the car failed to respond to the turn of the steering wheel, with fatal results to Mr. Grimm. Richard Schneckloth was also an occupant of the car.

None of the other occupants, besides Mr. Grimm, were seriously injured, and the car was but slightly demolished.

Edward Grimm was born on a farm in Iowa Township, this county, April 28, 1881. In 1901, he was married to Dorothy Vinke and they resided on a farm for several years. In 1909, they moved to South Manning where they have continued to reside since.

Besides the widow there are ten children, and his parents, in the immediate family, who will mourn his passing.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, afternoon from the Presbyterian Church at Manning, with Rev. Emory Zimmerman in charge, and burial was made in the Manning Cemetery.
