Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Bailey, 67, of Portland, Oregon, former Manning resident, were held at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning on Thursday morning, August 6, 1970, at 11:00, with Rev. Robert Rushing of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.

Mrs. Bailey, who had been visiting her daughter in Denver, Colorado, became ill ten days ago, and died on August 2nd at St. Anthony Hospital in Denver.

Daughter of Ben and Ida (Hagedorn) Wiese, she was born June 19, 1903, at Denison. She graduated from Manning High School and was married to Willard O. Bailey in 1925.

They lived at Manning until 1943 when they moved to Vancouver, Washington. In 1945 they returned to Iowa, to live in Carroll, and moved to Portland, Oregon, in 1959.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Rich.

She is survived by her husband, her daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Shirley) Calabra of Denver; 4 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Werner (Erma) Reiff of Buck Grove, and a brother, George Wiese of Schaller.
