Mother and Wife Laid To Rest

Death descended upon the home of Andrew Boyens of Aspinwall and too from its midst a loving wife and an affectionate mother. Mrs. Boyens answered the call of the Death Angel and went to her Heavenly Home. Her death is not only a shock to her family but to her many warm friends. The deceased had been ailing for some time but no one thought it to be serious until she suffered a light stroke a couple of weeks ago. From then on she was confined to her bed.

Early Monday morning she suffered another more severe stroke. The family was called together and all knew that she could not recover from the effects and at 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 5, 1928, she died.

Mrs. Boyens was of a cheerful disposition and was always willing to help those in need. She will be greatly missed by her relatives and friends.

Elizabeth (Mrs. Andrew Boyens), nee Rohr, was born in Germany, November 8, 1866. In 1884 she came to America and in 1885 she was joined in holy matrimony to Andrew Boyens in Clinton County. Just at what time they came to Crawford County is not known by the writer.

Mrs. Boyens was the mother of eleven children, two having died in infancy. Three sons and six daughters survive her: namely Fred of Irwin, Harry of Perry, Andrew, Jr. of Manning, Mrs. Kate Farley of Perry, Mrs. Dora Soll of Manilla, Mrs. Margaret Hagedorn, Mrs. Elsie Wiese, and Mrs. Elizabeth Dammann, all of Manning, and Mrs. Emma Wiese of Ross.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband, children, one brother, Henry Rohr of Manning, and one sister, Mrs. William Boyens of Manilla. Also a large host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church at Manning at 2:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon with Rev. Johann M. Ansorge officiating.

Burial was made in the Iowa Township Cemetery. The pall bearers were Gus and Emil Meggers, Ed Kuhl, Gus Koester, Charles and Alfred Schroeder. We join with the many friends in extending our sympathy to the family in the time of their bereavement.
