Elizabeth Dammann

Funeral services for Elizabeth Frances Dammann were held Sunday, March 31, 1996, at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Manning, Iowa. Pastor Robert Riggert officiated the service with Fern Jensen as organist. Interment was held in Manning City Cemetery, Manning, Iowa, with Laverne Boyens, Keith Boyens, Larry Jo Boyens, and Merle Stoelk as casketbearers.

Elizabeth, daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Rohr) Boyens, was born July 28, 1904, near Aspinwall, Iowa. She attended country schools near her home.

On January 18, 1928, Elizabeth was united in marriage with Louis F. Dammann. After their marriage they farmed in Audubon County and then on various farms near Manning. They retired from farming in 1949, at which time they moved into Manning. After moving to town Elizabeth worked for Priebe & Sons for 18 years and then for the Manning General Hospital for 20 years. Her husband died in 1985.

Elizabeth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Manning.

In August of 1986, Elizabeth became a resident of the Eventide Nursing Home in Denison. She had been in failing health for the last few months and died at the nursing home on Thursday evening; March 28, 1996, at the age of 91 years, and 8 months.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Dolly and her husband, Milo Stammer, of Lake View; her granddaughter, Debra Kay and her husband, Dave Lense, of Rochester, New York; three great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Sara, and Britton; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
