Elizabeth Jan Hagge, 11, of Carroll, died Sunday, November 21, 1999, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 24, 1999, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia with Reverend Carl Noble officiating. Lisa McNelly provided the organ accompaniment for congregational hymns, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Jesus Loves Me! This I Know."

Pallbearers were Travis Hilgenberg, Clete Carruthers, Dave Sporrer, Randy Ewoldt, Andy Topp, and Joe Cale. Honorary pallbearers were the class members from Mrs. Tilton's sixth grade class at Carroll Middle School, Mitchell Hagge, Jay Vollstedt, and Randy Hagge. Graveside rites were held at the Manning Cemetery in Manning, Iowa, also by Reverend Carl Noble.

Huebner Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of the arrangements.

The daughter of Michael and Rhonda (Vollstedt) Hagge, she was born February 23, 1988, at Manning, Iowa. She lived with her parents in Carroll, and was in the sixth grade at Carroll Community School. She especially enjoyed taking care of and playing with her brother, Mitchell. She liked collecting Beanie Babies and making up dances and dancing for people. She also enjoyed traveling with her grandparents through the northwest states for two weeks. Her love of helping and caring for others was made evident by the donation of her organs.

Miss Hagge was preceded in death by her grandmother, Joyce Schiernbeck; her great-grandparents, Reynold and Henrietta Hagge; Elmer and Esther Eberle; Hugo Vollstedt; and Elsie Schiernbeck; and one uncle, Kevin Hagge.

She is survived by her parents; her brother; her grandparents, Dean and Phyllis Vollstedt, of Manning; Bob and Phyllis Hagge, of Westside; her great-grandmother, Evelyn Vollstedt, of Manning; six aunts and uncles: Ross and Breda Petersen, of Vail; Randy and Delia Hagge, and Jane Hagge, all of Westside; Jay and Tina Vollstedt, of Boynton Beach, Florida; David Vollstedt, who is in the United States Navy; and Pam Nath of Manning; several great aunts and uncles; and many other special relatives and friends.
